Ba Na Hills is the day trip everyone asks us about, and the one where planning matters most. Tickets, cable car lines, which route up, when to reach the Golden Bridge before the tour buses — done alone, it is a lot of small decisions. With us, you skip all of them.
Your Day, Hour by Hour

- Mid-afternoon — cable car and private car back; drop-off at your hotel around 4 pm.
Is Ba Na Hills Worth It? Honest Answer
It depends on what you enjoy. Ba Na is spectacular — and it is also a theme park: built attractions, music, crowds on weekends and holidays. If you love iconic views, family-friendly fun and one big day out, you will have a great time, and going early with a private guide is the single best way to do it. If you prefer quiet nature and empty landscapes, our advice is honest: spend your day on the Coconut Forest & Hoi An tour instead.

When It Is Worth the Money, and When It Is Not
It is worth it if you want the Golden Bridge, the cable car and the French Village in one day with the tickets, the driving and the lunch already handled. It is not worth it if you were hoping for quiet mountain nature, because Ba Na Hills is a built resort complex sitting on top of a real mountain, and on a busy Saturday it feels like one.
- Came to Da Nang partly because of the Golden Bridge photograph and would rather not spend the day working out how to get to it.
- Want the world-record cable car ride, which the Guinness World Records listing puts at 5,801 metres of non-stop single-track span, open to the public since March 29, 2013.
- Would like a full day out of Central Vietnamese heat. The summit sits around 1,487 metres and runs an annual average of 17–20°C.
- Are travelling as a couple or a small family and want your own car and your own English-speaking guide rather than a seat on a coach.
- Have no interest in queuing twice, once for the entrance ticket and once for a lunch voucher.
- Are looking at a solidly overcast forecast. The Golden Bridge stands at roughly 1,400 metres, and in thick cloud it disappears into white. You still get the cable car, the gardens and the buffet, but the view you booked for may not turn up. October to January is when that happens most.
- Only have one day in Da Nang and have not seen the city. Ba Na Hills is a full eight hours and it takes place 25–35 kilometres out of town. Do the city and the coast first; the mountain is a second-day decision.
- Are uneasy with heights. The cable car climbs for 15 to 20 minutes over forest and valley, and some cabins have transparent floor panels. That is a long time to be uncomfortable.
- Dislike crowds more than you like landmarks. The cable car system is built to move up to 3,000 passengers an hour. On weekends and Vietnamese public holidays it uses that capacity.
- Wanted hiking. There is no trail experience here. You walk on paved paths, bridges and staircases between attractions.
