Hanoi, From the Back of a Motorbike
The Kiss Hanoi City Tour is a 3.5-hour private motorbike ride through the capital, with an English-speaking áo dài woman rider for every guest. You sit on the back and watch the city the way locals move through it — down narrow lanes a car can’t reach, between the big landmarks, stopping where a tour bus never could.
Most visitors only ever walk the Old Quarter. This is the half-day that connects it to the thousand-year-old temple, the West Lake pagoda and the trackside coffee — the parts a map won’t show you.
What You Will See
Six stops across the old heart of Hanoi, on one unhurried 3.5-hour loop:
- St Joseph’s Cathedral — the 1886 neo-Gothic church locals call “Hanoi’s Notre-Dame,” at the edge of the Old Quarter;
- Temple of Literature — Vietnam’s first university, founded in 1070 and still standing around five quiet courtyards;
- Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum — a ride past the city’s most solemn square, where the honour guard changes by the hour;
- Tran Quoc Pagoda — the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, around 1,500 years old, on a tiny islet in West Lake;
- Railway-track coffee & the Long Bien area — a Vietnamese phin coffee at a trackside café where the trains still rumble past, near the French-built Long Bien Bridge (1902);
- A local lunch or snack — a sit-down Vietnamese meal off the tourist trail to finish.
The route is never rushed — your rider follows your pace, and if one stop grabs you, you stay longer.
How It Works
- Duration: 3.5 hours — morning (8 am) or afternoon (1 pm);
- Your rider: an English-speaking áo dài woman rider, one guest per motorbike — you never drive;
- Price: US $55 per person (~1,430,000 VND). No pre-payment — pay by card or cash on the day.
Is the Hanoi City Tour Worth It?
Worth it if you want to understand how Hanoi fits together in half a day, without renting a bike or decoding a map. Honest advice from our riders on who should book — and who shouldn’t.
Book this tour if you:
- Have half a day and no idea how the Old Quarter, West Lake and the landmarks connect;
- Want the quieter corners — a 1,500-year-old pagoda, a trackside coffee — not only the lake everyone photographs;
- Are travelling solo and would rather have a local guide than a map and a translation app;
- Like the idea of riding pillion while someone else handles the traffic, the parking and the stories.
Maybe book something else if you:
- Want to drive yourself — this is a pillion tour; you ride behind your rider the whole way;
- Really want a day trip to Ninh Binh or Ha Long Bay — those are separate full-day and overnight tours, not this city ride;
- Are travelling with a baby — we don’t recommend motorbike tours for infants, and we’ll say so rather than take the booking;
- Have our Hanoi Food Tour the same evening and want zero overlap — the two routes are built not to repeat stops, so this stays a daytime sightseeing ride.
