Xin cháo! My experience was hosted by Kim and she was such a light in this world. Great communication, on time, and extremely hospitable! While on the tour, she would even point out/recommend things that were applicable to Vietnam. 🇻🇳 Though the motorbikes may seem intimidating in Vietnam, Kim was a safe driver and I didn’t feel timid whatsoever. 1000/10 experience!I told Kim the food I wanted to try while on the tour, phó and bánh mí. First stop was Quán Chay Sala. We went there for those two items, but then she recommended Bún riêu. When I tell you that was the BEST soup I’ve ever had…. It might just have topped a bowl of phó and I’m a phó lover from back home. She ordered me a bánh mí, but I didn’t eat it until later. Nonetheless, the sandwich was so delicious and the bread was cloud soft.Second stop was the flower market. Kim is the sweetest and showed me how to open a lotus flower (Nelumbo nucifera, I think). A special moment, and I really loved the exclusivity of the tour being just her & I. While at the market, she told me more about Independence Day since I was in town during the celebration dates. We came across a spot for bánh cam mè. SOOOOO SOFT AND DELICOUS! I have to find them again. I gave my friend one to try after I was done with the tour and she said it reminded her of beignets so you know they were GREAT!Third stop, we ate bánh xéo. Kim is so educated and the facts she shared about the greens was amazing to listen to. She made me a roll with the pancake and veggies, and she wrapped it so graciously. I had bánh xéo while in Hoi An, but this place definitely topped the other.Fourth location, Vegan365 for pumpkin soup and fried spring rolls. Kim gave a great suggestion to wrap the lettuce around the fried spring rolls to soak up all the oil. GAME CHANGER! I don’t think I’ll eat them any other way. Doing so also gave the rolls an extra veggie component. 10/10Last but not least, we ended the tour with dessert at Thế Giối TÀU HŨ for a sweet tofu soup-type dish. I was a little off put (verbally) by the idea of sweet tofu but I stood corrected. “Don’t knock it until you try it.” It was the perfect sweet treat after the savory options.Allow me not to forget to mention, they served iced green tea with every meal and that was perfect to have on the hot, sunny day. Kim was great at ensuring I stayed cool, whether it was using her jacket to cool down the seat because I was wearing shorts, or simply asking how I felt about the sun while we were driving around. She shared so many other suggestions to explore while I’m in Vietnam, too. All in all, the tour was amazing and Kim made it even more special. Honestly, best food I’ve had since I’ve been here (week n a half). If you luck up with Kim as your guide, you won’t be disappointed and will be overjoyed. We laughed and smiled through whole tour, I felt like I made a new friend.Cảm ơn, Kim!!!!!!!!! 🫰🏽
