The Whole City in One Day
The Kiss Da Nang City Tour (Full-day) is a 7-hour motorbike ride that covers everything our Half-day tour does — the riverside bridges, the Lady Buddha, the old market — and keeps going: out along the Son Tra Peninsula and up into the caves and pagodas of the Marble Mountains, with a proper local lunch in between.
Before we set off, your guides will ask which places you have already visited, so they can shape the route around what is new to you. No two full days ride quite the same.
What You Will See and Taste
- Dragon Bridge, Love Bridge and the Carp Turning into Dragon — Da Nang’s riverside icons, with the local legends behind them;
- Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula — home of the 67-meter Lady Buddha, the tallest Buddha statue in Vietnam, looking out over the whole bay;
- Con Market — one of the city’s oldest markets, where we walk you through the stalls locals actually shop in;
- Lunch and coffee at Nam House Coffee — a typical old Vietnamese house. Lunch may be bun bo Hue, hu tieu, mien ga or banh canh; the menu changes seasonally and we adjust for allergies and restrictions;
- The Marble Mountains — caves, shrines and mountain pagodas carved into five marble hills south of the city.
How It Works
- Duration: 7 hours, departing 8:30 AM;
- Pickup and drop-off: your hotel or preferred address. Free within 3 km of Dragon Bridge; beyond that, 50,000 VND per way;
- Included: English-speaking tour guides in ao dai dress; scooters, fuel, helmets and rain ponchos; a drink or coffee and a local lunch for each guest; lots of laughter;
- Not included: food and drink outside the program, tips and personal expenses;
- Children: ages 3–11 ride at 75% of the adult price; toddlers under 3 join free;
- Private tour: add US $10 per person to make the ride yours alone.
Rain or Shine
The tour runs in dry or rainy weather — your guides carry ponchos, and a little rain adds to the adventure. If it pours, we spend more time inside the markets, cafes and caves and less on the road.
Cancellations at least 24 hours before departure are fully refunded; within 24 hours, the booking is non-refundable.
Is the Full-Day Da Nang Tour Worth It?
The full day is worth it if you have a whole free day in Da Nang and want the coast, the caves and the bridges in one continuous ride, with lunch and a coffee stop already paid for. At $78 USD it is roughly double the half day. What the extra buys is time rather than more names on a list: the Son Tra peninsula road, the climb at the Marble Mountains, and long enough at each stop to sit down.
- Have one whole day with nothing scheduled after it, and no flight that evening.
- Want Son Tra and the Marble Mountains in the same ride, not on two separate mornings with two separate taxis.
- Are comfortable being outdoors and on the move from 8:30 AM through the afternoon.
- Would rather eat where your driver-guide eats than pick a restaurant from a map. Lunch, the coffee stop and drinks are in the price.
- Are travelling solo and want a full day of local company. Every guest rides pillion with their own woman driver-guide.
- Only have half a day free. Seven hours squeezed into an afternoon does not work, and a rushed full day is worse than an unhurried half day. The 3.5-hour Kiss Da Nang City Tour at $40 USD exists for exactly this.
- Cannot spend seven hours outdoors. This is honest, not discouraging. June to August, daytime highs in Da Nang sit around 33°C with humidity that averages about 83% across the year, and one source records peaks up to 40°C. If heat drains you, or you are recovering from a long-haul flight, the half day is the better booking.
- Are here in the wet season with fixed dates. Da Nang’s heaviest rain runs September to December. We ride rain or shine with ponchos and plenty of guests enjoy a wet ride, but seven hours is a long time to be damp. If a tropical storm hits, we cancel and refund in full.
- Have knees or a back that dislike stairs. The Marble Mountains involve a climb, and the cave floors are uneven. There is a lift, and the detail is in the next-but-one section.
- Want to drive yourself. This is a pillion tour. You ride behind your driver-guide the whole day.
- Are travelling with a baby. We do not recommend motorbike tours for infants, and we will say so rather than take the booking. From age 7 a child can ride with their own driver; under 7 they share a bike with a parent, seated between the parent and the driver.
Full Day vs Two Half Days
Two half-day tours cost about the same as one full day and give you a different thing entirely. The full day is $78 USD. A 3.5-hour city half day at $40 USD plus the 3.5-hour Da Nang By Night tour at $35 USD comes to $75 USD, spread across two days. The money is close enough to ignore; the trade is in time, coverage and how tired you get.
