- Visa-free does not mean check-free — you still present your passport for an entry stamp, with proof of onward travel, and the officer’s checks are the same either way. Check your own eligibility on the official government portal before you fly.

Does the 30-day exemption apply if I connect through Ho Chi Minh City?
Only if you transit directly to the island without clearing immigration on the mainland. If you enter Vietnam at Tan Son Nhat first, normal visa rules apply there instead.

Passport (6+ months validity), proof of onward travel within 30 days, and your direct-flight itinerary. Our staff checks all of it in the arrival hall.
