For food lovers around the world, the Michelin Guide has long stood as a gold standard. And now, the Michelin Guide Vietnam 2025, officially unveiled on June 5th at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, further cements the country’s growing presence on the global culinary map. This year’s edition introduces new stars, debut cities, and Vietnam’s very first Green Star.

Vietnam’s Expanding Presence in the Michelin Guide 2025

This year, the Michelin Guide Vietnam 2025 features 181 dining establishments across Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. This year, the Michelin Guide 2025 features 181 dining establishments across Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. The updated selection includes:

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides, remarked:

“This year, we are proud to witness an increase in the number of restaurants awarded MICHELIN Stars, all led by talented chefs. Many of these chefs have returned to their roots, using modern techniques to tell the stories of their hometowns and to rediscover the flavors of their childhood.

At the same time, street food stalls, family-run eateries, and long-standing establishments continue to preserve culinary traditions with authenticity and passion.

For our team of inspectors, the journey of discovering new dining spots in Vietnam remains as exciting as it was in the beginning. They are constantly inspired by the dedication, creativity, and pursuit of excellence shown by chefs across the country. And they remain eager to uncover even more culinary gems in the years to come.”

One Michelin Star: New Names and Notable Progress

The Michelin Guide Vietnam 2025 celebrates nine restaurants with One Michelin Star. Among these are two major changes from the previous year: one new entry and one promotion.

  • CieL (Ho Chi Minh City) – NEW – A modern and inventive fine dining experience where creativity meets refined technique in a warm, intimate setting.
  • Coco Dining (Ho Chi Minh City) – PROMOTED – Chef Vo Thanh Vuong presents contemporary Vietnamese dishes that incorporate fermentation and global methods with personal flair.

Vietnam’s First Michelin Green Star

One of the most anticipated moments of the Michelin Guide Vietnam 2025 was the awarding of the country’s first Michelin Green Star. This distinction is reserved for restaurants that demonstrate outstanding commitment to sustainable gastronomy.

Lamai Garden (Hanoi) earned this historic recognition. Chef Tran Hieu Trung’s approach is rooted in a farm-to-table philosophy, sourcing vegetables, poultry, and herbs directly from the restaurant’s farm in Phu Tho. The restaurant features seasonal, plant-forward menus and a kitchen designed to reflect openness, natural flow, and balance. Lamai Garden embodies the growing global movement toward environmentally conscious fine dining and now leads that movement in Vietnam.

Bib Gourmand Vietnam 2025: Delicious & Affordable

Bib Gourmand restaurants offer high-quality food at affordable prices — and this year, 9 new names joined the list across Hanoi and Da Nang.
