Saigon Motorbike Tour with Kids: Ages, Helmets and Honest Rules (2026)

Can kids join a Saigon motorbike tour? Yes — exact age rules, child helmets, prices…

Yes, you can take a motorbike tour with kids in Saigon — families ride with us every week. Children under 7 share a bike with a parent, seated between the driver and the parent and held from both sides; from age 7 they ride pillion on their own bike with their own female driver. Infants are the one group we do not recommend. Here are the exact rules, prices and honest limits parents ask about.

Motorbike tour with kids — the short version:

  • Under 7: same bike as a parent, child in the middle, driver in front.
  • Age 7 and up: their own bike, their own driver — same as adults.
  • Infants: not recommended. Message us for private car alternatives.
  • Certified helmets in child sizes are included, always.
  • Child discounts apply — confirm your kids’ ages on WhatsApp for exact pricing.

How Does a Motorbike Tour with Kids Actually Work?

Tour guide carrying a smiling child beside parked motorbikes before a Saigon motorbike tour with kids

A motorbike tour with kids works exactly like our adult tours, with one bike arrangement changed by age. You never drive — every guest sits behind a licensed professional driver who has done the route hundreds of times.

Age How they ride Notes
Infants (under ~2) Not recommended Ask us about private car tours instead
2 – 6 years Shared bike: driver in front, child in the middle, parent behind Child is held from both sides the whole ride
7 – 12 years Own bike with own driver Most kids call this the best part of Vietnam
Teenagers Own bike with own driver Same as adults

City riding speed is slow — mostly 20–30 km/h in traffic — and our drivers adjust further when a child is on board.

What About Helmets and Safety?

Every rider gets a certified helmet, and we stock child sizes — if the helmet does not fit snugly, the child does not ride until we find one that does. Our safety record comes from the same system we described in Are Motorbike Tours in Saigon Safe?: licensed women drivers, insured guests, slow city speeds and routes we have ridden thousands of times. One of our guides, Vy, says the pattern is always the same: “The parents grip the seat for ten minutes. The kids are waving at strangers from minute one.”

You can read what riders say about us on TripAdvisor, where KissTour is ranked #1 in Ho Chi Minh City with 5,200+ reviews.

Which Saigon Tour Works Best for Kids?

The half-day City Tour is the family favorite: short enough for young attention spans, with park and landmark stops where kids can run. Food-motivated kids from about 8 do well on the evening food tour.

Tour Length Price (adult) Best for kids aged
City Tour (half day) 3.5 hours $45 USD 4+
Saigon Food Tour 4 hours $59 USD 8+ (see our food tour with kids guide)
By Night Tour 3.5 hours $39 USD 10+ and teens
Vegan Food Tour 4 hours $59 USD 8+

Any tour can be made private for +$10 USD per person — worth it with young children, because the route bends around nap schedules and toilet stops. Compare all options in Which Saigon Tour Is Right for You? or browse all Saigon tours.

How Much Do Kids Pay?

Children get discounted rates that depend on age and whether they share a bike with a parent. We keep it simple: tell us your kids’ ages on WhatsApp and we quote the exact family price. You can also book now and pay in cash after the tour — no deposit, no risk if plans change.

What If It Rains?

Tours run rain or shine — ponchos are provided, and a warm drizzle ride is genuinely fun for kids. If a storm makes riding unsafe, we cancel and refund in full. If you need to change plans, message us before the tour and rescheduling is free.

When Should You Skip the Motorbike Tour?

With an infant, or with a child who cannot sit still for 30–40 minutes at a stretch, a motorbike tour with kids becomes work instead of fun. In that case do a shorter private version, or wait a year — a 5-year-old who loved it will be a 6-year-old who loves it more. Traveling to the coast instead? The same age rules apply on our Da Nang tours with kids.

Motorbike Tour with Kids — FAQ

Is there a minimum age for the motorbike tours?

No fixed minimum, but we do not recommend infants. From about age 2, children ride between the driver and a parent; from 7 they get their own bike and driver.

Do you have helmets that fit small children?

Yes — certified helmets in child sizes are included. A loose helmet is not safe, so we fit each child before setting off.

Can one parent ride with two young children?

No — one child per shared bike, seated between driver and parent. Two young children means two shared bikes, one per parent.

Is Saigon traffic too dangerous for kids?

It looks chaotic but moves slowly and predictably — average city speeds are around 20–30 km/h. Your driver handles the traffic; the child just enjoys the view.

Can we cancel if our child gets sick?

Yes. Message us before the tour and we reschedule or cancel free — kids get sick, we get it.
