Da Nang with Kids 2026: A Family Guide From Our Women Riders

Da Nang with kids is about as easy as Vietnam gets: the airport is 15 minutes from the beach, a dragon breathes real fire every weekend for free, the sea at My Khe is calm from February to August, and the food is child-friendly. Here is what works, what it costs in 2026, and what to skip.

Da Nang with kids is a question our riders answer every week, because plenty of our guests travel as families. This guide collects what actually works: the free stuff, the ticket prices we verified in July 2026, how children join a motorbike tour safely, and the months to avoid. Prices use a rate of about 26,000 VND to $1 USD and may shift slightly.

Is Da Nang Good for Kids?

Yes — Da Nang is the easiest big city in Vietnam to visit with children: it is compact, the beach sits 10 minutes from downtown, and traffic is noticeably gentler than Saigon or Hanoi.

Distances are short, sidewalks along the beach road are wide enough for strollers, and most attractions take half a day at most — which matches a child’s attention span better than a packed itinerary. For the full city overview, see our pillar guide to things to do in Da Nang.

What Are the Best Things to Do in Da Nang with Kids?

KissTour riders and guests in helmets before setting off, a common start to exploring Da Nang with kids

The short answer: the beach and the Dragon Bridge are free, Ba Na Hills is the big-ticket day out, and the water park covers rainy days.

Activity Price (2026) Good to know
My Khe Beach Free Calmest water February–August; mornings before 9:00 AM are quietest
Dragon Bridge Fire Show Free Friday–Sunday, 9:00 PM, about 30 minutes
Ba Na Hills & Golden Bridge 1,000,000 VND (~$38 USD) adult; 800,000 VND (~$31 USD) child 1–1.4 m; under 1 m free Kids taller than 1.4 m pay the adult rate; weekdays are far less crowded
Mikazuki Water Park 365 From 350,000 VND (~$13 USD) adult weekday; 170,000–250,000 VND (~$7–10 USD) child 1–1.4 m Indoor and heated — the rainy-day backup; open 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
Marble Mountains Small entry ticket Caves and temples; climb early, before the heat

The Dragon Bridge tip our riders give every family: arrive by 8:30 PM and watch from the east bank, a little away from the bridge itself — the first fire blast is loud, and small children do better with some distance. After the show, the riverside night market keeps everyone fed. More evening ideas are in Da Nang at night.

Can Kids Join a Motorbike Tour in Da Nang?

Yes. From age 7, children ride their own bike with their own driver; younger kids share a bike, seated between the driver and a parent.

We do not encourage bringing infants on the bikes. Every rider wears a helmet, children included. Tours run rain or shine with ponchos provided, and if a storm rolls in we cancel and refund in full. You can also pay in cash after the tour — book now, pay later.

“From about seven, kids stop being passengers and start being co-pilots — they wave at every traffic light,” says Vy, one of our áo dài riders.

Our Da Nang tours with 100% women drivers: the city tour (3.5 hours, $40 USD), the food tour (4 hours, $49 USD) and the by-night tour (3.5 hours, $35 USD). Traveling with a baby or toddler? Take a car option instead: the Ba Na Hills day trip or the Coconut Forest & Hoi An tour (from $40 USD per person).

What Should Families Skip in Da Nang?

Skip the September–November window if you can: it is typhoon season, the sea gets rough, and beach days disappear.

Also skip Ba Na Hills on weekend afternoons (queues for the cable car eat your day) and swimming on red-flag days — lifeguards at My Khe take the flags seriously, and so should you. Month-by-month details are in our guide to the best time to visit Da Nang.

Landing With Kids Without the Scramble

Da Nang International Airport (DAD) sits right inside the city — most hotels are a 10–15 minute taxi away.

If you land with tired children, airport assistance starts at $30 USD per person and children under 11 pay 75%: a host meets you at the gate, takes your bags and walks you to the right counter, so you are not figuring out a strange terminal alone with two tired kids. Details in our Da Nang airport assistance guide.

Da Nang with Kids: FAQ

How many days do you need in Da Nang with kids?

Three days works well: one beach day, one Ba Na Hills day, and one day mixing the city with an evening Dragon Bridge show — or a Hoi An day trip.

Is Da Nang street food safe for kids?

Generally yes, if you eat where it is busy and the food is cooked hot in front of you. Our Da Nang food guide lists the dishes locals feed their own kids.

What is the best month to take kids to Da Nang?

February to August is the dry, swimmable season. May and June are hot but reliable; September to November brings storms.

Do children wear helmets on the motorbike tours?

Yes. Every rider gets a helmet, children included, and kids under 7 sit between the driver and a parent.

Is the Dragon Bridge fire show really free?

Yes — no ticket, no booking. It runs Friday to Sunday at 9:00 PM and lasts about 30 minutes.
