Short answer: an airport lounge buys you comfort after you have cleared security. Fast track buys you a person who walks you through immigration. On arrival in Vietnam a lounge cannot help you at all, because you reach it only after the queue you were trying to avoid. Lounges cost $18–43 USD; fast track starts at $30 USD.
What Does an Airport Lounge Actually Give You?
A seat, a buffet, a bar, Wi-Fi and a quieter room. At Tan Son Nhat the international lounges also offer showers, nap rooms and massage chairs, and they run 24 hours a day.
What an airport lounge does not give you is speed. Every lounge in Vietnam sits airside — past check-in, past security, and for international departures past passport control. You get in with a boarding pass, a card membership or a paid pass, and you get in only once the airport has already processed you.
That single fact decides most of this comparison.

What Does Fast Track Actually Do?
Fast track is a person, not a room. A greeter meets you at the aircraft door or in the arrivals hall and walks you to a dedicated immigration counter. They handle the paperwork with the officer and stay with you until your bag is off the belt.
The whole service exists in the part of the airport where you have no control: the immigration queue. Our pillar guide on fast track service in Vietnam covers exactly what happens step by step, and current immigration wait times explain why guests book it in the first place.

How Much Does Each One Cost in 2026?
Prices below are per person. Lounge figures are for Tan Son Nhat, which sets the benchmark for the country.
| What you are buying | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic airport lounge, SGN Terminal 1 (advance) | 456,545 VND (~$18 USD) | Le Saigonnais, near Gate 11, 06:00–21:00, up to 3 hours |
| International airport lounge, SGN Terminal 2 (advance) | 945,000 VND (~$36 USD) | Rose, Jasmine Halal or Apricot, open 24 hours |
| Same lounges via resellers or walk-up | $34–55 USD | Third-party passes $34–43; walk-up membership passes up to $55 |

| KissTour departure fast track, Standard | $45 USD | Check-in, security and emigration handled with you |
Children under 11 pay 75% of the adult fast track price. Arrivals between 8 PM and 6 AM add $8 USD per route. Booking both directions together takes 10% off the departure leg. Full detail sits on our fast track booking page.
Why Can’t an Airport Lounge Help You on Arrival?
Because of geography. You land, you walk to immigration, you queue, you clear the officer, you collect your bag, you leave. The lounges are on the other side of that sequence, in the departures area.
There is no arrivals lounge at Tan Son Nhat that you can use to skip the immigration hall. If your problem is a 40-minute queue at 11 PM with a tired child, an airport lounge pass is the wrong purchase. That is the exact gap our honest verdict on whether fast track is worth it was written to answer.
Which One Should You Book for a Departure?
Departures are the one case where both make sense, because they solve different halves of the same trip.
| Your situation | Better buy | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Tight connection, heavy bags, first time at SGN | Departure fast track | Someone moves you through check-in, security and emigration |
| Three hours to kill before a night flight | Airport lounge | The queue is already behind you; you are buying a chair and dinner |
| Travelling with young children or a grandparent | Fast track first | Queues are the hard part, not the waiting — see our family and senior guide |
| You hold a Priority Pass or an eligible credit card | Lounge is already free | Spend the money on fast track instead |
Our departure fast track guide explains how early to arrive when you have booked it, and how early to arrive covers the case where you have not.
What About a Long Layover or a Connecting Flight?
This is where the two overlap most usefully. If you land internationally and connect onto a domestic flight, you must clear immigration, collect your bag, change terminals and check in again.
Terminals 1 and 2 are joined by a covered walkway of about five minutes. Terminal 3 is roughly 3 km away and needs the shuttle, so allow 15–20 minutes on top. Our arrival-plus-connecting service is $49 USD at SGN and DAD, and $59 USD at Noi Bai, and it exists precisely because that handover is where people miss flights. More detail: connecting flights and layovers at Vietnamese airports.
Once you are checked in for the second leg, an airport lounge becomes a reasonable add-on for the wait.
Can You Use Both on the Same Trip?
Yes, and plenty of guests do. Fast track on arrival so the first hour in Vietnam is not a queue, then a lounge on the way home when the airport has stopped being an obstacle.
One thing to check before you buy an airport lounge pass: whether your card already includes it. Priority Pass, LoungeKey and Dragonpass memberships all cover the Tan Son Nhat lounges. A walk-up pass at up to $55 USD is the most expensive way to enter a room you may already have access to. The lounge operator SASCO publishes its own advance booking rates, which are usually the lowest published rate.
Which Airports Have Which Service?
Fast track is available at Tan Son Nhat (SGN), Noi Bai (HAN), Da Nang (DAD) and Phu Quoc (PQC). Paid lounges exist at all four, with the widest choice by far at SGN.
If you are landing in Saigon for the first time, read our step-by-step arrival walkthrough and the Tan Son Nhat fast track page. If you hold a biometric passport, also check whether the autogates apply to you — they are free, and for some travellers they remove the problem entirely.
How Do You Book, and When Do You Pay?
Send us your flight number, date and the number of passengers. We confirm the greeter, and you pay after the service — book now, pay later, nothing charged when you reserve.
Plans change constantly with flights. If your flight is delayed we track it and wait; if you need to cancel, message us ahead of time and it costs you nothing. Groups of five or more get a discount, and a car into the city can be added if you would rather not deal with the taxi rank.
Airport Lounge vs Fast Track: Quick Answers
Is there an arrivals lounge at Tan Son Nhat?
Not one that helps you skip immigration. The paid lounges are airside in the departures area, so on arrival you reach them only after clearing the queue — which is the thing you were trying to avoid.
How much is an airport lounge at Tan Son Nhat?
456,545 VND (~$18 USD) for the domestic lounge in Terminal 1 and 945,000 VND (~$36 USD) for the international lounges in Terminal 2 when booked in advance. Resellers charge $34–43 USD, and walk-up passes run up to $55 USD.
Does fast track include lounge access?
No. They are separate services from separate providers. Fast track moves you through immigration; the lounge is a room you enter afterwards on a departure.
Is fast track worth it if my flight lands at midnight?
That is when guests value it most, because late arrivals stack up. Night service between 8 PM and 6 AM adds $8 USD per route to the standard price.
Can children use the lounges?
Yes. Booking through SASCO, one child under five enters free with each paying adult, and children aged five to twelve pay half price.
Which is better value overall?
It depends which problem you have. If your problem is queuing, only fast track solves it. If your problem is three empty hours before boarding, an airport lounge is the cheaper and better answer.
